Back to Black by Amy Winehouse: Another song I'm listening to because it's on my Gossip Girl mix. I feel so conflicted about Amy Winehouse; her voice is killer and her songs are great, but then there's...her. Sweet, sad, fucked-up her. Whose name is really nothing but a sign. Anyways, this is such an awesome song, in it's sadness and resignation. I like how the underlying beat is actually kinda cheerful, but then the song is so depressing. Glance at the lyrics: "I love you so much/it's not enough/ You love blow and I love puff/ And life is like a pipe/ And I'm a tiny penny rolling up the walls inside". Le sigh. I loved these lyrics even more when I thought she said "and I love Poe"...oh well. The creep factor of the tiny penny keeps me going.

U R A Fever by The Kills: This song is awesome. It sounds so...dirty. And not in a sexual way; I just think the band would be these unwashed, delirious people or something. I also love it not just because it was from Gossip Girl, but also because I think of it as the character Georgina Sparks' theme song. It's that crazy song that plays when Serena confides to Blair that she "killed someone"-scoff. And I'm pretty sure it plays also when Chuck and Georgina are returning to NYC in a cab. It works so perfectly for Georgina, because she's like this feverish creature, trying to re-infect Serena, who only wanted her when she had a "fever"...go to Television Without Pity if this confuses you. Jacob there is a super recapper. Peek at le lyrics: "Dancing on the legs of a new-born pony/Left right left right/Keep it up son/Go ahead and have her.../Go ahead and leave her/You only ever had her/When you were a fever".

Paralyzer by Finger Eleven: Another GG song. I just am HOOKED on this song. It's such a pump up song, with a catchy chorus. The guy screams the chorus, how could you not love it? And it played when Blair crashed Jenny's party and took down Asher. So...yeah. Lyrics: "If your body matches/What your eyes can do/You’ll probably move right through/Me on my way to you". Also, the video is pretty cool. Some dude danced in a suit in a street...then other people join him. I'm a sucker for dancing; mainly because I suck at it.

Bad Things by Jace Everett: Aw man, now this is dirty. Obviously it's all sexual and whatnot, but it feels like the Dirty South. And it's the True Blood theme song, so that just adds an extra layer of coolness. His voice is deep, twangy, and suggestive. If I were the type to swoon, I would. Lyrics: " When you came in the air went out./And every shadow filled up with doubt./I don't know who you think you are,/But before the night is through,/I wanna do bad things with you."
